Working from the same cafe 5 days a week is fine, actually, and I stopped feeling bad about it
Everyone in this community acts like you have to rotate through 6 different cafes a week or you're doing it wrong, and I just don't buy it anymore. I live in Sacramento and I've been at the same spot near the capitol for 8 months now, and it works better than any cafe hopping I did before. The baristas know my order and they know I tip well. They save me the corner table by the outlet without me asking. Two weeks ago the wifi router died around 2pm and the owner came over and told me to use the shop's backup hotspot, no charge, because I'm a regular. Try getting that from a place you drop into once a month. When I hopped around, I was always figuring out the bathroom code, the outlet situation, and whether buying one drip coffee meant I had to leave after an hour. Now I get more done by 11am than I used to all day. Is there anyone here who's stuck with one spot long term and feels like it's holding you back, or do you mostly see the upside too?
