Showerthought: I dropped $90 on a graded comic at a con in Columbus and I can't stop thinking about it
Bought a CGC 9.4 copy of a book I already owned raw. Paid $90 when the raw copy goes for maybe $15. The slab just sat there looking fancy while my cheap copy reads the same. I think grading only matters if you plan to sell, and I don't. Anyone else blow real money on a slab just to feel like a serious collector?
Feels like you already know the answer here since you're saying the cheap copy reads the same. Grading is mostly for resale or for people who get a kick out of owning the fanciest version of something. If it's not either of those, ninety bucks is just ninety bucks and the slab is a fancy paperweight.
