Went back to a 2010 run of X-Men and the pacing feels alien now

I pulled out my old single issues from the Dark Reign era after a buddy in Chicago swore the stories held up, and honestly the decompression is wild. Every arc stretched across 6 issues that could've been 3 today, so has anyone else found modern trades way too fast compared to that older style?

Finally pulled the trigger on that $90 omnibus, no regrets so far

I kept eyeing this 30th anniversary omnibus at my local shop for about 4 months. Last Friday I just grabbed it after my shift and took it home. Read 200 pages that night and the binding feels solid, not like those glued ones I've had split on me. My wallet is lighter but my shelf finally looks complete. Has anyone else taken a chance on a pricey collection and had it pay off?

Friend swore by buying single issues over trades, cost me $120 at Midtown Comics

He said I'd appreciate the ads and letter columns, but after 8 floppies I realized I just wanted the whole story in one sitting, so has anyone else broken a run into singles and regretted it for the reading experience?

My comic shop owner pointed out that my old bagging technique was bending the spines

I've been bagging my comics the same way for about 5 years, sliding them in spine first, but last week the shop owner showed me how that actually bends the cover over time. He said to slide them in spine side down and let the bag do the work instead. Anybody else ever get a surprising tip from their local shop that changed how you store your stuff?
