Vent: Yearly gear checks feel like overkill to me

Honestly, I trust my daily checks way more. The official inspections just eat up time we could be diving.

Our shop's insurance requires those signed forms for coverage.

Hey @seth_carr, isn't it annoying how insurance always needs signed forms? It feels like they add more steps just to cover their own backs. Still, I get why they do it, even if it's a pain.

Our dive club had a guy skip his yearly check because his daily routine was solid. His reg failed at 90 feet last month from a tiny o-ring crack he missed. The official inspection would have caught that. I mean, I get the frustration, but that hour once a year feels cheap compared to the alternative.
