Waste of money: the $400 drysuit that leaked on my third dive

I know everyone raves about going cheap on your first drysuit, but I spent $400 on a budget brand and it leaked at the neck seal during a 50-foot inspection job in Norfolk last month. Had to cut the dive short and lost half a day's pay. Has anyone else had better luck with a mid-range suit or am I just unlucky?

Oh man, that is rough. I used to be all about the "buy cheap, learn on it" approach for drysuits, thinking it was smart to save money upfront. But hearing about your lost half day's pay from a leaky neck seal, that really makes me stop and rethink that whole idea. You know, sometimes the true cost isn't just the price tag, it's the work you miss out on. Hope you find a decent suit that actually holds up next time.
