The $80 moisture meter I laughed at just saved a school bathroom job
I do mostly commercial restroom remodels in Cleveland and my old way was just tapping tile with a screwdriver. Last month a school board inspector flagged moisture behind a wall that I swore was dry, so I bought a pin meter out of spite. It caught three wet spots in a locker room where the slab had been wicking water for years. Now I trust it before I close any backer board, and I feel dumb for mocking the guy who used one on my last bid. Anyone else find a tool they resisted that ended up paying for itself in one call?
