Unpopular opinion: a supply house guy in Tulsa told me my PRV sizing was lazy and it saved me a callback
Got called out by the counter guy at a supply house in Tulsa when I tried to grab a 3/4 inch PRV for a 40 unit apartment building, and he flat out said I was undersizing it. He walked me through the fixture unit math on a napkin and showed me I needed a 1.5 inch valve because of the pressure drop at 90 PSI incoming. Been sizing them off the chart ever since, and my complaint calls went from about 4 a month to almost zero, so what's the real formula you guys use when the building has mixed use on the top floor?
