Am I the only one who counted 47 dead power supplies in my recycle bin this year?
I was cleaning the shop in Boise yesterday and actually counted them instead of guessing. 47 units since January, and 31 of them were the same cheap brand customers keep buying because it's $12 cheaper. What got me was realizing I could've charged half those people a $40 repair instead of a $90 replacement if I'd just kept a few caps and fans on hand. Now I'm wondering if I should start a little core pile and flip them on the side. Any of you keep a stash of donor units, or do you just toss them and move on?
