DAE game share with a buddy on the other console? I did the math and felt dumb for not starting sooner
My friend in Denver has a PS5 and I've got an Xbox, and we finally set up the whole home console trick last week. Turns out we each buy one big game and both get to play it, so we split the cost on two new releases and saved $140 total. I always assumed cross-console stuff was a hassle, but it took us about 15 minutes on a call to get it working. Now I'm wondering what else I've been paying full price for out of pure habit. What's the one trick you wish you'd figured out years earlier?
Man, you're only scratching the surface here. The same trick works for subscriptions too, like if you set each other's console as the home one you can split stuff like Game Pass or PS Plus and both still get online. My brother and I did that two years ago and I still kick myself for all the months we paid double. Next thing to look at is your streaming apps, some of them let you share a household and people never check. It's wild how much money just leaks out from habit, you don't notice until you actually sit down and do the math.
