Guy at a GameStop in Reno told me crossplay is killing console loyalty, and now I can't stop thinking about it
I was picking up a used copy of Elden Ring last Tuesday when the guy behind the counter started going off about how crossplay ruined the whole point of picking a console. He claimed that back in the day, your console was your team, and now everyone plays together so there's no reason to care which box you buy. I get where he's coming from, but I also think crossplay is the best thing to happen to smaller games that would die with a split player base. So which is it, does crossplay help gamers or does it just make the console war pointless?
