Pro tip: swap to a game's free demo before you buy it
Last month I was dead set on getting the new RPG everyone's raving about. Saw it at $70 and hesitated. Downloaded the demo instead. 45 minutes in and I realized the combat feels clunky and the story drags. Saved myself with that trial. Now I check demos on every platform before dropping cash. You guys do the same or do you just wing it?

Buddy of mine swore he was getting that cyberpunk driving game everyone talked about. Had it in his cart and everything. His roommate told him to try the demo first. Turns out the car handling is like steering a boat on ice and the map is just empty highway for miles. He cancelled the order that same night. Last I heard he grabbed it on sale for fifteen bucks two years later and still felt ripped off. Demos saved that guy a full priced lesson.

Jumped on the demo train about a year ago and it's genuinely saved me from some bad purchases. There's this one survival game I was hyped for, thought it'd be my next obsession, but the demo showed me the inventory system was a nightmare. I was so grateful I didn't drop full price on something that annoyed me in the first hour. Now I even download demos for games I'm 90% sure I'll love, just to confirm the vibe is right, you know?
