Zelda taught me patience in 2003, now Elden Ring made me forget it

I could sit through Water Temple puzzles for hours back on GameCube, but after 40 hours of Elden Ring last fall I catch myself mashing through dialogue and looking up shrine guides on my phone, has anyone else lost their tolerance for slow game pacing as they got older?
