I picked the Great Pyramid as a grain silo theory over alien construction and got laughed out of the room

At a local history meetup last month, I had to choose between the ancient astronaut theory and the idea that the Great Pyramid was actually a grain storage facility. I went with the grain silo explanation because it makes more sense with the shafts and internal layout. Three people walked away while I was explaining how the granite plugs could seal grain chambers. Has anyone else here tried defending a less popular pyramid theory against the alien crowd?

Oh the usual 'but aliens' stuff" is pretty much all I got too... The worst part was this guy kept saying the Egyptians couldn't stack grain that high without it spoiling, but like... that's literally what silos do, they manage moisture and airflow. I tried pointing out the internal ramps could have been for grain workers moving stuff around, but by then they were all staring at their phones. Honestly I think people just want the mystery of aliens more than a boring old storage building.

Did they give any actual reasons why it wouldn't work as a silo or just the usual "but aliens" stuff?
