Burned a client's bangs off with a curling wand 20 minutes before her engagement photos
Last Saturday at my chair in Boise I grabbed my 1 inch wand instead of my usual 1.25 and the barrel was way hotter than I expected, so a chunk of her bangs just snapped right off when I wrapped them. I panicked, clipped what was left into a little side swoop and told her it was the new "textured fringe" look, and she actually loved it which still shocks me. Has this ever happened to any of you, and what's your go-to save when you take off more hair than planned?

Wait, did you really tell her textured fringe was a thing and she bought it? That is some next level salesmanship right there, I would've just stood there frozen with the wand still smoking in my hand. I once took a chunk out of a bride's side piece the night before her wedding and had to pin it back so tight she looked surprised in every photo. Honestly clipping it into a swoop is a solid save, way better than my usual move of blaming the client's "fragile hair.
