Why does nobody talk about the markup on backbar products at salon suites?
I was at a salon suite building in Tulsa helping a friend restock and noticed the front desk selling the same 1 liter shampoo I get wholesale for $11 at $34 a bottle. Some stylists say that markup is fair since rent and card fees eat the profit, others say it just pushes clients to buy online. Where do you all land on retail pricing in a suite versus a commission salon?
And that online price is what the client sees at checkout, so a 3x markup just hands Amazon the sale. Suite rent is high but losing the refill customer every 8 weeks costs way more than the extra 15 bucks.
