DAE still scrub their cast iron with soap? My grandma in Tulsa laughed at me for babying it
I used to treat my skillet like glass, only wiping it with oil and salt for 2 years because every forum said soap would wreck the seasoning. Then my grandma in Tulsa watched me do it and told me she has used dish soap on hers since 1974, so I tried it for 3 weeks and the pan looks the same or better. Does anyone else think the no-soap rule is way overblown, or am I missing something about old pans?
