Finally dug up the creeping bellflower in my garden after 3 years of ignoring it
I kept going back and forth on whether to just let it be or actually try to get rid of it. It looked pretty but it was taking over everything. Last weekend I spent 2 hours digging up the roots, got like a grocery bag full. My lavender patch is already looking happier.

Man, I feel this so hard. That creeping bellflower is a nightmare, I had it in my old place and it would just laugh at me every time I tried to pull it out. Two hours with a grocery bag full sounds about right, honestly you probably only got half of it too, those roots go so deep. Your lavender is definitely going to thank you for it though, once that stuff is gone the other plants can actually breathe. Good on you for finally tackling it, I know how tempting it is to just let it go especially when it looks so pretty but it's totally not worth it. Hope you got some satisfaction from tossing that bag out.

Laughing at you is exactly what that stuff does, I swear it's got a personality. I bet there's a secret creeping bellflower club where they all high five under the soil when they know you're out there sweating. Two hours for a grocery bag full is like getting paid minimum wage for a job nobody wants. But yeah, tossing that bag out is the only real victory you get with that plant, so you gotta take it. Your lavender's probably throwing a little party underground right now celebrating the extra space.
