Vent: my linen closet smelled like a gym bag until I switched to cedar blocks
For years I kept one of those plastic shaker tubs of baking soda in the closet and it never really did much. Last March I found a bag of cedar blocks at a church sale in Waco for $4 and tucked three of them between the sheets. The smell left in about a week and I have not bought baking soda for that shelf since. I also stopped folding my towels so tight, which I think helped more than I want to admit. Does the cedar fade after a while, and is sanding the blocks worth the fuss?
