I finally gave the Lego games a real shot with my nephew
My sister kept pushing me to play Lego City Undercover with my 9 year old nephew during his visit last month. I figured it would be boring, just a bunch of repetitive smashing and collecting. But after about 20 minutes in, he was laughing so hard at the police chase jokes that I started getting into it. The two player drop in and out thing is actually genius too. We finished the whole story over 4 days and I think I enjoyed it more than he did. Has anyone else been surprised by a game they only tried for a kid's sake?
never thought Id be the one asking to finish "one more level" but here we are. I read somewhere that the devs actually put a ton of work into the writing specifically so adults wouldnt hate it, and that totally showed in the jokes. my nephew and I did the same thing with the batman lego game last summer, ended up playing for like 3 hours past his bedtime.
