Our Sunday co-op night died when the Mario Kart cartridge gave up
Last Sunday my buddies came over for our weekly Mario Kart 8 session, and the disc just froze on Rainbow Road, round 3. We tried every fix, rebooting the Switch, cleaning the disc with a soft shirt, even switching to handheld mode. Nothing worked, it kept skipping on the same curve every time. We wasted 40 minutes troubleshooting before my buddy pulled out his old Wii from 2011 and we played Double Dash instead. Has anyone else had a game just die mid-session and are there any good couch co-op games that don't rely on fragile physical media?

Laugh at my own game graveyard: my old PS2 died mid-race in Gran Turismo, so I know that pain. We spent an hour blowing into the disc and holding the console at weird angles like it was a sick pet. Ended up playing a card game that night, which honestly saved the whole session.
