My cable box looked like spaghetti until I saw the label maker at a friend's house in Portland
I was at my buddy's place in Portland last month and he had his whole TV setup behind this little cabinet door, with every single HDMI and power cord wrapped and tagged with a label maker. The thing that got me was he spent maybe $20 on it and 15 minutes per cable, and his setup looked better than my $200 case. That night I went home and started untangling my own mess of 9 cords under my desk and realized I'd been dreading it for no real reason. Now I cut everything to size with velcro ties and I can actually find the right plug in two seconds. Has anyone tried those little clip-on labels for chargers, or do you just use tape like I did?
Wait, he spent 15 minutes per cable? For 9 cables that is over two hours of work just on labels and wraps. I can't wrap my head around having that kind of patience for something nobody even sees except when you open the cabinet. My desk setup is a disaster right now and I keep telling myself I'll fix it someday, but two hours staring at cords sounds like actual torture to me. The part that gets me is you said it only cost 20 bucks, which makes the time the real price you pay. Did your buddy do all 9 in one sitting or did he spread it out over a few nights? I want the nice looking setup but I don't know if I have it in me.
