Spent $45 on those velcro cable ties and honestly they just made things worse

I bought a big pack of those reusable velcro cable straps from Amazon a few months back, thinking I'd finally clean up the rat's nest behind my TV stand. After 2 hours of wrapping every cord individually, I realized I couldn't tell which was which anymore because they all looked the same. Then I tried labeling them with a sharpie but it rubbed off after a week. Has anyone figured out a color coding system that actually sticks?

Funny how we think more organization will solve the chaos, but it often just creates a different kind of mess. I've noticed this pattern everywhere, from my junk drawer to my phone's home screen. You try to tidy up one small thing and it turns into a whole new problem you didn't even see coming. Like, I spent a weekend reorganizing my toolbox only to spend twice as long finding the right screwdriver because I'd rearranged everything so neatly.

Man, @jasonp71 you nailed it! I did the same thing with my kitchen cabinet last month. Spent a whole Sunday sorting all my spices alphabetically and putting them in matching little jars. Now I can't find the cumin without pulling out 15 jars because they all look the same and I keep grabbing the wrong one. It's like the more I try to fix things, the more I end up creating a whole new headache I never saw coming. I swear my junk drawer was actually easier when it was just a pile of random stuff. Do you ever just leave a small mess alone now because you know trying to fix it will somehow make it worse?
