Took a weekend to redo my game shelf and found 3 old controllers I forgot I had

Honestly I spent last Saturday pulling everything out of my closet in Milwaukee and reorganizing by console generation instead of alphabetically. The difference was night and day after about 6 hours of work with some cheap cable ties from Target. My PS2 fat model with the network adapter finally sits flat again after years of being crammed sideways. Anybody else find random accessories when they finally dig through their backlog?

Wait, you actually sorted by generation instead of alphabetical? I used to think alphabetical was the only way to go, figured it made finding stuff faster. But last month I tried generation order for the first time and it honestly made way more sense for how I actually play games. Like, I don't grab random titles, I grab something from whatever system I'm in the mood for. Now I just pull whole shelves worth instead of hunting through the Q's or whatever. I'm still finding weird stuff like old memory cards with saves from 2004 that I thought I lost forever. It finally clicked for me after years of fighting with my own system.

the_julia said "saves from 2004 that I thought I lost forever" and I literally dropped my phone. Dude, those memory cards are like time capsules, I'd be terrified to plug one in and see what teenage me was playing.
