Blew $400 on a fancy remote control for my crane and it died after 3 months

Went with the high-end radio remote from a brand I won't name, and the battery pack gave out on a Friday afternoon job, leaving me stranded 40 feet up for two hours, anyone else had bad luck with aftermarket controls?

stranded 40 feet up for two hours" - man that sucks, I feel your pain. It's weird how the expensive stuff often lets you down first, like the fancy oven I bought that stopped heating evenly after a year but my old beater one lasted forever. I've noticed this pattern in everything from phone chargers to lawn mowers, the "premium" stuff just seems to have these cheap internal parts that fail way too fast. My buddy bought a high end drone and the battery swelled up on the third flight, while my cheap off brand one is still going two years later. It's like companies know they can charge more for the name and hope nobody notices the actual quality slipped.

stranded 40 feet up for two hours" - So is 40 feet up really stranded or just stuck?
