Caught two guys at the yard in Gary booming down with nobody on the tag line and it bugs me more than it should
Watched a crew lower a 6,000 lb spreader beam last Tuesday at the yard in Gary and both spotters had their hands full with radios instead of a tag line. I've been running a 90 ton for 11 years and the rule on every job I've been on is simple, if the load can spin, it gets a tag line, period. The beam started to weathervane about 8 feet off the deck and it took them a good 20 seconds to react. I mentioned it to the guy running the hook and he shrugged it off as no big deal. Am I being too picky here or does anyone else call this out when they see it?
