PSA: That $900 remote control load chart tablet was a total scam

Bought one of those fancy rugged tablets preloaded with load charts for my Grove RT530E last spring. Paid $900 thinking it would beat my paper charts in the sun and rain. First week on a job near Tulsa it kept freezing during a blind pick and I had to tie off and climb down for the book. My old paper charts worked fine for 12 years and cost nothing to replace. Anyone else burned money on digital tools that just made the job harder, or is it just me?

Learned that lesson the hard way with a laser level that died in the cold. Paper just works, no charging, no freezing, no fuss.

Yeah my laser died in the cold too, paper never lets me down.
