My roommate in Austin tried to fix the AC himself in July and now we have no AC at all
So last Tuesday it hit 104 in Austin and our AC started blowing warm air. My roommate Marcus watched one YouTube video, bought a $12 capacitor, and went at the unit with a butter knife. He crossed the wrong wire, tripped the whole breaker, and the compressor is dead now. Landlord says we pay for it since he opened it up, so we're looking at $1,400 and sleeping in the living room with a fan. Anyone know a guy in Austin who won't charge an arm and a leg, or should we just sweat it out till October?
