My roommate's midnight 'smoothie' experiment ruined our shared blender AND our friendship?
So back in March, my roommate Dave decided to make a 'detox smoothie' at 2 AM using kale, beets, and about half a jar of peanut butter. He didn't rinse the blender, and the next morning I found this thick, brown sludge caked onto every blade and crevice. I spent 45 minutes scrubbing it with a toothbrush before giving up and buying a $35 replacement from Target. The worst part is he never apologized, he just said 'you should've used the hot water setting' like that's a thing on a basic Oster. Has anyone else had a roommate destroy something communal and then act like you're the weird one for caring? I'm still salty about the $35 and the lost Saturday morning.
I used to roll my eyes at stuff like this and say just buy a new blender, but then my old roommate left chili in ours for a week and I totally got it. It's not the $35, it's the fact that he made you do the cleanup and then made you feel dumb for being annoyed.
