A guy in my writing group said prompts are cheating, and I almost threw my notebook at him
He told the table at our Thursday meetup in Reno that real writers sit down with a blank page and no help, like that is some kind of badge. I think that is garbage, a good prompt is just a starting block and half my best flash pieces came from one weird line about a lighthouse. What prompt did you steal that turned into the best thing you ever wrote?
