Paid $30 for a password manager last year and it saved my bank account

I got phished on a fake Amazon login page and my password manager didn't autofill, which tipped me off before I hit submit. Anyone else have a near miss saved by a tool like that?

Whoa, I gotta push back on this a little. Password managers are great for sure, but that specific situation sounds more like you being alert than the tool doing the heavy lifting. The autofill only helps if you actually glance at the URL before it fills, and honestly, a fake login page that's half decent can still trick people even without the autofill. I've had a few close calls myself, but really it was just me double checking the address bar that saved me, not the manager itself.
