That stranger at the dog park made me rethink my whole morning loop
Ran into an older guy at Riverside Park last Tuesday who said my dog looked bored on our usual 2 mile route. He showed me how he lets his lab stop and sniff every single mailbox and tree for as long as she wants, no pulling. I always thought I was the one in charge of pacing, but watching that dog's tail go crazy made me wonder who the walk is really for. Tried his approach yesterday and my beagle took 40 extra minutes just to circle one fire hydrant. Has anyone else slowed way down and seen their dog actually enjoy the walk more, or is this guy just lucky with a chill dog?
