Took me 6 tries to find the right harness for my puller, finally got it
My beagle mix Daisy used to choke herself on every walk, and I tried those front clip harnesses and a gentle leader over 3 weeks, nothing worked until a trainer at Fenton Park suggested a Y-shaped harness that sits behind the shoulders. She still pulls a bit but no more coughing fits, and I wasted $87 on the other ones. Has anyone else had a dog that took forever to figure out the gear for?
Ugh, tell me about it! I read somewhere that like 80% of pulling dogs do way better with a Y harness because it doesn't hit their trachea, which totally made sense after I saw the difference. My pup still gets excited on walks, but at least I'm not paranoid about her hurting herself every time she sees a squirrel. Takes some trial and error, but glad you found what works for Daisy.
