I think matte finish cards are way better than the glossy ones everyone loves

Last Friday at my poker night, three people complained my matte deck was 'too slippery,' but after a few rounds the glossy decks they brought were all sticky from sweat and impossible to shuffle clean, so why does everyone act like shiny is the gold standard?

wait, are you telling me glossy cards don't turn into a greasy mess after three rounds of nachos and beers? i had a buddy bring his "premium" glossy deck to game night and by the end we couldn't even riffle shuffle without it sticking together like glue. matte is way more practical, especially if you're not playing in some sterile tournament room where everyone washed their hands first. glossy might look pretty in the box but real life is sweaty and gross lol.

Gotta push back on "real life is sweaty and gross" - if you're keeping your cards in a humid room or passing around greasy chips, that's more of a prep issue than a finish problem. Glossy still looks cleaner and feels nicer in the hand for longer if you just wipe the table down first.
