Hit 212 custom decks in my collection, that's when I noticed the pattern

I was sorting my shelves last night and counted 212 decks total. Not crazy compared to some folks here, but I realized 47 of them are from the same 3 artists. That's over 20% of everything I own. It got me thinking about how easy it is to fall into a style rut without noticing. Has anyone else hit a number like that and suddenly seen their collecting habits in a new light?

Saw a booth at the Magic Expo with cards that shuffle themselves

I stopped by the 76th Street Magic Expo in Chicago last weekend and this seller had a deck where every card had a tiny notch cut in the same spot. It made the whole deck feel like it was gliding when you riffle shuffle, no joke. Has anyone else tried those notch cut cards, or is it just a gimmick that wears off after a week?

Compared USPCC vs Cartamundi for my last 3 custom decks and the winner was obvious

I've been designing my own playing cards for a few years now and always went with USPCC since they're the standard. But for my last project I tried Cartamundi for a run of 500 decks and the difference in handling is night and day. The Cartamundi stock feels stiffer and the cards fan way smoother right out of the box. My old USPCC decks needed like 50 shuffles to break in before they felt good. Plus the registration on the back design was perfect on every single card from Cartamundi while I've had a few off-center cuts from USPCC before. Anyone else switched manufacturers and noticed a big difference in quality? I'm thinking about sticking with Cartamundi for my next run of 1000 decks but want to hear if others had the same experience.
