That vendor at the Portland Card Expo made me rethink my whole setup
I was at the Portland Card Expo last October, walking the tables, and this one booth had a guy with no fancy display cases or lights. Just a beat up cardboard box full of decks, all different brands. I saw a Fontain x Chinatown deck for $15, which I thought was a fake, but he let me open it and check the seal. It was real. He said he doesn't bother with cases or sleeves because he buys bulk from estate sales and just sells them cheap. That changed how I look at collecting now. I used to keep everything in perfect mint condition in a safe, but now I think most decks are meant to be handled. Has anyone else picked up a rare deck for less than $20 at a con and actually used it for cardistry?
