Just realized I was torquing head bolts wrong for years

Used to just crank them down by feel. Thought I knew better. Then a guy named Jake at a shop in Nashville showed me the torque-to-yield method on a 6.7 Powerstroke. Tried it on my own truck last week and zero leaks. Anyone else skip the torque wrench for years?

Oh man, I feel this in my bones. I was the same way for like five years - just "feeling it out" with a wrench and hoping for the best. Bet my head gaskets are still cringing somewhere.

Feeling it out with a wrench" is about right @laura211, I still have nightmares about stripped bolts.
