Just realized most guys are over-torquing their oil cooler gaskets on the 6.7 Powerstroke

Kept seeing blown seals on trucks that just had work done, and a buddy's torque wrench was set 15 ft-lbs over spec. Anyone else run into this or have a go-to gasket brand that holds up better?

Yeah that's a super common mistake lol. A good torque wrench is key, but people just crank them. I've had way better luck with the OEM Ford gaskets over any aftermarket brand.

Over-torquing" is putting it nicely, it's more like they're using the ugga dugga gun and calling it a day. I saw a guy at the shop treat every bolt like it was a lug nut, and then wonder why his driveway looked like an Exxon spill. Julia_burns9 is right about sticking with the OEM ones, the aftermarket ones I tried just turned into crunchy paste. I mean, it's a gasket, not the suspension on a monster truck.
