That before-and-after GIF I made for a client got 12x more engagement than my full resolution stills

I posted a side-by-side comparison of a character illustration I spent 40 hours on, showing the rough sketch next to the final polished version, and the time-lapse progression attracted more comments in one day than my portfolio pieces did all month, has anyone else found that the process shots perform better than the finished work?

Yeah the rough stages feel more relatable and real somehow.

Man my friend's band recorded in a literal basement and that raw sound is way better than their polished album.
