TIL my tablet pen tip was worn down after 3 months of daily drawing

I was wondering why my lines felt all jagged and wobbly lately, so I finally looked up the nib replacement guide on the Wacom website. Turns out the tip was basically flat on one side, which explained everything about my weird strokes in Clip Studio. Has anyone else gone through a nib way faster than they expected?

I'd been uploading my digital paintings to a print-on-demand shop and wondering why everything looked fuzzy when it arrived. A customer sent me a photo of their print and you could literally see the pixel grid... I felt sick. I opened my file settings and realized I had the DPI set to 72 the whole time, not 300. Has anyone else made this stupid rookie mistake or am I the only one who missed this basic setting?

I was in a coffee shop last week and heard this guy saying that hyper-realistic digital portraits are 'empty' compared to traditional painting. He used the name of some famous digital artist I didn't catch, but it got me thinking. On one hand, technical skill in digital tools takes years to build, but on the other, does it really matter if the piece feels cold? Do you think a technically perfect piece can have as much emotion as a rough sketch, or is the medium itself the limit? I'd love to hear where you all land on this.

Back when I started digital art like 4 years ago, I would just pick a base color and then throw shadows on top with no real plan. It looked okay but flat. My buddy kept telling me to try blocking in big shapes first and then refining. I ignored him for like 6 months. Lost $120 on a brush pack that messed up my tablet screen

I bought this set of stylus nibs off Amazon for $120 because it claimed to be compatible with my drawing tablet. The reviews looked fine but after 2 weeks of use, the nibs started scratching my screen protector. I ignored it at first thinking it was just dust. Then I pulled off the protector and saw actual scratch marks on the tablet surface itself. Total waste of money and now I gotta shell out for a new screen. Got 3 commissions in one day last fall and felt like a rockstar for a week

Back in October I had this random Tuesday where I posted a quick sketch of a raccoon eating a slice of pizza on my art page. Within like 4 hours three different people messaged me asking for custom pieces.
