Ngl, my video call got interrupted by a goat in Morocco
Honestly, I was on a client call from a riad in Marrakech. Tbh, a goat wandered into the courtyard and started bleating loudly. I had to mute myself and shoo it away while keeping a straight face. My client asked if everything was okay, and I just said it was a local background noise. Ngl, it was pretty absurd but made for a good laugh later.

Honestly, I used to think "local background noise" was just stuff like sirens. Tbh, your goat story shows how funny remote work can really be.

Marrakech courtyards are basically goat magnets during work hours. Your story is exactly why I love remote work from weird places. It turns normal calls into unexpected adventures. Having to keep a straight face while a goat bleats is a skill we all need now. Clients never know what's really going on behind the mute button. That local background noise excuse is pure gold.

Had a similar thing happen last year in Portugal. Was trying to explain a spreadsheet and a rooster would not stop crowing. That "local background noise" line is the only thing that saves you. @oliviabrown is totally right, these weird moments are what make remote work fun sometimes. You just learn to roll with whatever animal decides to join the call.
