Got burned by a fancy dish scraper I didn't need
I spent $18 on this silicone dish scraper thing last month, thinking it would save time rinsing plates before the dishwasher... but it just pushed gunk into the sink strainer. Honestly, my old plastic spatula works better and cost like a dollar. Anyone else blow cash on a gadget that didn't really help?

Wait, you mean that thing that looks like a mini squeegee for plates? I fell for that same trap like two years ago. The silicone just slides over everything and leaves a greasy film behind, you know? It's like it pushes the gunk around instead of actually scraping it off. My mom's old metal spatula from the 90s does a way better job and it actually gets into the corners of the pan. I think those gadgets are designed for people who never actually wash dishes by hand, so they look good on Instagram but fall apart in real use. Honestly, you would have been better off taking that $18 and buying a six-pack of the cheap plastic ones from the grocery store, at least those work until they melt.
