Got roasted by my sister about leaving bits on plates... she was right

I always rinse my plates under the faucet until they look clean, you know, no big chunks. But my sister visited last month and watched me do it, then said 'you're just wasting water, those little spots don't matter in the dishwasher.' I thought she was crazy until I actually stopped rinsing for a few days. Turns out my dishwasher cleans way better now, like no more cloudy glasses or bits stuck on the silverware. The filter did get a little gross after a week though, so I had to clean that out. Has anyone else had a family member call them out on their rinsing routine and change your mind about it?

Your dishwasher model matters though since some old ones actually need pre-rinsing.
