Hit 500 clean plates without pre-rinsing and I'm kinda shocked

I started a little experiment back in January where I stopped pre-rinsing my dishes before loading the dishwasher. Well, I hit 500 loads yesterday without a single crusty plate coming out dirty. My GE dishwasher from 2019 handles the egg residue and dried oatmeal way better than I expected. Has anyone else tested how long their machine can go without the pre-rinse routine?

Checking for hidden grease" sounds like my dishwasher has trust issues.

I read somewhere that modern dishwashers have sensors that adjust water pressure and temp based on how dirty the load is.

Oh yeah, that's absolutely true. My new dishwasher has a little sensor inside that actually checks how cloudy the water is coming off the dishes and it adjusts the whole cycle on the fly. It's wild because sometimes a load that looks sparkling clean still gets an extra rinse cycle because the sensor picked up some hidden grease or something.
