My dad finally proved me wrong about pre-rinsing dishes
For years I was a hardcore pre-rinser. I mean I'd scrub every plate until it looked clean before even thinking about the dishwasher. My dad kept telling me I was wasting water and that modern machines have sensors that work better with some food on there. I laughed it off until 3 months ago when I stayed at his place in Cincinnati. He loaded up a casserole dish with baked-on cheese and just chucked it in without rinsing. Came out spotless. I tried the same thing at home with my Bosch and honestly it works fine now. I still scrape off big chunks but I don't run the water for 2 minutes per plate anymore. Has anyone else had a dishwasher that actually hates clean dishes?

Wait I need you to clarify something about the casserole dish. Baked on cheese? Like the kind you have to soak overnight or you'll lose a layer of enamel? Because my brain is genuinely short circuiting right now. I was the same way as you for literally decades and just recently started trusting my machine after a friend basically held my hand through a test run. I still can't fully shake the habit though. I caught myself last week giving a plate a quick rinse before catching it and literally apologizing out loud to my dishwasher. It's like a weird mental block where I'm waiting for it to come out with crusty residue but it never does.
