Rant: The lasagna pan that broke my pre-rinse streak
I was at my sink last Tuesday, scrubbing a baked-on lasagna pan for 10 minutes before loading the dishwasher. My roommate walked by and said 'you just washed it, the machine is gonna clean it again anyway.' I snapped and put it in dirty. The pan came out spotless. Now I barely rinse anything unless there's chunks.

Put down a dripping lasagna pan on a wooden cutting board once. Left a big gray water mark that never came out. Now I just throw pans in dirty and hope for the best.

I mean, I get it, the water mark thing is annoying. But I dunno, throwing dirty pans in the sink and hoping for the best is just asking for a bigger mess later. At least with the cutting board you could just flip it over or sand it down. A whole sink full of crusted-on food that's been sitting there for a day is way harder to deal with than a single stain. Have you ever tried scrubbing a pan that had lasagna sauce sit for 8 hours? It's like cement.
