Talk with my dad changed how I pre-rinse after 15 years
I was over at my parents' house last Sunday helping with dishes, and my dad watched me scrub every plate under hot water before loading the dishwasher. He just said 'you know the machine has sensors, right?' I laughed it off at first, but he pulled out the manual for his 5 year old Kenmore and showed me the part about how modern dishwashers actually need some food particles to work right. I've been rinsing everything like it's 1995 since I moved out. Now I just scrape the big chunks off and let the machine do its thing. Has anyone else had an older relative drop some dishwasher wisdom on you?

My brother told me the same thing back in 2021. It really stings when you want to believe them but part of you knows better.
