Tossed my old coffee scoop after 3 years of weak mornings
Realized my 'tablespoon' was more like a half-tablespoon. My roommate pulled out a scale and showed me I was only using 7 grams instead of 15. That one measurement change made my $5 Folgers taste like actual coffee.

The same thing happens with so many kitchen tools honestly. Measuring cups that say "1 cup" but pour out 3/4 because the handle takes up space, cutting boards that warp from heat, can openers that leave jagged edges. It's like we trust these objects for years and never question them until something makes us look closer. Half the time, the problem isn't us messing up, it's the stuff around us quietly failing to do its job.
