Spent $40 on a tiny succulent planter kit and the glue gave out after a week

I bought one of those little glass terrarium kits from a craft store to make a desk succulent garden. The instructions said to use the included hot glue to hold the rocks and moss in place before you put the soil in. Day three the glue started letting go and everything shifted around, buried the succulent halfway. Took it apart and used clear silicone caulk instead, cost me about $3 at the hardware store and it's been solid for two months now. Anybody use a different adhesive that actually holds up long term?

Maybe the glue was just there for emotional support, not structural integrity. $40 for a lesson in adhesive compatibility seems steep, but at least your caulk upgrade was cheap. Who knew succulent gardening had such high stakes?

Aw man, that's rough. Honestly @faithg26 I feel for you, spending $40 on a glue that was just emotionally supporting everything instead of actually holding it together is the most relatable succulent struggle I've heard in a while. At least the caulk was cheap, right?
