Wasted $30 on a cheap pen holder kit from a craft store
I bought this little wooden pen holder assembly kit last weekend thinking it would be a fun quick project. Turns out the wood pieces didn't fit together right and the glue they provided was basically water. I spent two hours trying to sand edges down and it still looks crooked and sad on my desk. Has anyone else had bad luck with those pre-made craft kits?

Good lord, the glue was basically water? That's almost impressive in a terrible way. I've had those craft store kits before and honestly I'm shocked the wood pieces didn't even fit together, that's like the bare minimum they could get right. You spent two hours sanding? I would have thrown the whole thing in the trash after the first 15 minutes when I realized the glue was useless. That's just insulting to charge $30 for something that doesn't even do its one job. It sounds like you got the extra cursed version of a product that was already cursed from the start.
