Learned the hard way about using cheap fleece for tug toys
I spent $12 on bargain fleece from a discount bin last month and made 3 braided tug toys for my border collie. By day 2, the fibers were already fraying and within a week both ends had completely unraveled. My pup managed to swallow a chunk of it before I caught her, which cost me a $50 vet checkup just to be safe. Anyone else find a specific fabric that actually holds up to aggressive chewers?

$50 vet checkup for swallowing a piece of fleece? That seems like a lot for something that probably just passed right through... my dog has eaten way worse stuff and been fine. I mean yeah, fraying fabric isn't great but most dogs can handle a little bit of fuzz without running to the emergency room. Honestly I've used cheap fleece from the craft store for years and it's never been that big a deal, you just gotta toss them when they start looking rough. Maybe your border collie's just extra aggressive with toys but I think you're overreacting a bit here.

Totally get what you're saying @paige514, but this feels like one of those things where people get lucky 99 times and then get slammed with a huge bill the one time it goes bad. Just because it's usually fine doesn't mean it's always fine.
