Changed my tune on that $40 oscillating multi-tool blade set after it cut through a galvanized nail in a floorboard I was trying to save.
I was ready to call it junk when the first blade snapped, but the metal-cutting one in the pack got me out of a real bind without wrecking the original wood, so has anyone found a brand that holds up better for general demo?

Switched to Diablo blades after a similar snap and they last.

That metal blade saving the wood is a win... but snapping the first one is rough. Was that the wood-cutting blade that broke, and what were you cutting when it happened? I've had some just give up on old, dry pine and others sail through plywood.

Ugh, snapping a blade is the worst! @campbell.robin, that was a wood blade, and I was ripping some super dense, old oak. It just bound up and pop. Dry pine can be sneaky tough with hidden knots, but for hardwoods I go super slow now and clear the dust constantly. A sharp blade and letting the saw do the work makes all the difference.
